Born and raised on a ranch near Clem, Oregon, I spent summers
helping with the area wheat harvest and family cattle operation.
I obtained my Real Estate License in 1973 and sold rural and
commercial properties until my parents’ retirement from the ranch.
I subsequently leased the property from them and let my real estate
license go inactive for several years while I concentrated on modern
farm techniques for conservation. As a result, I was awarded the
prestigious Oregon Wheat Growers League’s Conservation Farm of the
Year Award for the state in 1984.
My wife, Nancy, and I decided, in 2004, to sell the property and
move to a small town several miles south of the ranch. I have
renewed my real estate license and sell rural properties in the
surrounding area.
